Need I say, I covet your prayers? The fecal blood test was positive. Rats. It was also more painful than I'd anticipated, but that's a matter of "wimpy".
Today, all the pre-op stuff was done and I'm scheduled first thing Thursday morning. Keep your fingers crossed and eyes (hearts) upward. :o)
Thanks for all your encouragement.

Abi:
My prayers are with you. I go to GI doc today for investigation of rectal bleeding. I'll probably be scheduled for a c'scope too. I've had two c'scopes in the past so I am not worried about the test itself - it's no problem. It's just the results I'm scared of. Good luck to you on Thursday.

Abi:
I went to GI doc today and was given a quick exam by his assistant. Just some questions and a few pokes at my abdomen. Then she said they'd need to investigate with a colonoscopy. (I kinda knew that's how it would go, as I think they do a c'scopy as long as your insurance covers it). So I'm scheduled for this Friday, Oct. 1 (the day after yours, I think) and will hopefully know SOMETHING then. Probably won't know the results of any biopsies till next week though.
Meantime, let's keep a positive attitude! You and I are BOTH going to be fine!

Annie, At least you'll get this done quickly and remove all doubts, right? That's how I feel, anyway. I'll keep you in prayer and check in as soon I can to see how things went.
In the meantime....You *go* girl!!
((((hugs))))

Abi....Good luck to you ;) You will be in my thoughts & prayers as will Annie. Had my share of scopes (3) and a colon resection for diverticulitis. The scopes were a piece of cake compared to the preps!!! Will pray for both of you that the scopes reveal good news. There may be a chance you have a polyp which is bleeding...I had 2 removed which were negative (no bleeding though) or perhaps an internal hemorroid. Please let us know the outcome....Goody

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the board and was just browsing through everything when I saw the posts for this topic. First let me say "Good Luck" to all of you and you are doing the right thing by having your symptoms checked. I had precancerous polyps removed in 1993 and have had numerous colonoscopy's done so I know there is nothing to the test itself. The prep is the worst part. I am a big advocate of colonoscopy's. I lost my older brother to colon cancer in 1994. He was 43 yrs old.

Hey, Abi  Just wanted to know how things went for you today??? Was the scope as bad as the prep??? I'll tell you...when they sedated me I woke up feeling as if I had the best night's sleep. It didn't hit me until later that day and then I felt a little worn out...but not too bad at all. Hope all went well...and keep us updated. Now we have to pray for Annie....that all goes well with the prep....Goody :D

Dear Abi, you are in my prayers. I am going through the same thing. I'm scheduled for upper and lower scopes Tuesday morning. I'm absolutely terrified! I have dark red blood coming from somewhere in my colon, I also have black tarry stools that smell almost chemical that's coming from my upper GI. Also, have swollen neck glands and throat lumps. I've had mild abdominal pain for years, I never thought much of it until the bleeding started. I've also had narrow stool for years- someone once told me (not a doctor) that my hemroids could cause that. Now I know they can't. Needless to say this is terrifying as I know it is for you. I am only 44 years old. Please keep me in your prayers as I will you. Let me hear from you. Teresa88 :)

Dear Teresa88,
I can only imagine what thoughts must be going through your mind. I'm with you in prayer, for certain.
Heavenly Father, I lift up before You, Teresa and ask that You meet her at the point of her greatest need. Bring Your peace and comfort to her mind and her heart, Lord. A peace she will not be able to explain. Your *supernatural* peace that surpasses anything we can comprehend. Above all, give her the grace she needs to put her absolute trust in You. Remove all fear, replacing it with assurance in Your care for her. In Jesus' Precious Name. Amen
