Has anyone ever been to an ENT because of swelling of the sinuses? I cant sleep and nothing seems to be working (steaming, sudafed, allergy medicines, perscription nasal sprays). They are all used in treating just congestion but not not to take the swellng dwn inside of the nose/. DOes anyone know anything about this?? It gets really bad when i lay down.

thanks

Several years ago I had a problem with narrowed sinus and nasal passages. They went in and removed and cauterized some of the turbinates (membrane folds in the nose) plus they did a septoplasty. It did the trick and I was abble to breathe very well afterwards. It isn't always permanent (the septoplasty is though) and they may have to do it again. I need to have it done again because my sinuses get blocked easily. Ask for a referral to an ENT and see what he says.
