Hello! I really want to buy the Bare Escentuals line but I don't want a zillion things...see, all I want to do is use the basic foundation, concealer...and whatever else they have that makes the skin...I just want my whole face to look natural with that make-up but I am planning on using my own eyeshadows, eyeliners, blush and lipstick...has anyone tired this combo? I just want to know what would you recommend for the 'basics' because I don't want to spend a tonn of money...I was thinking of getting three products at the most. Can anyone give me pointers on what I should purchase? Thanks! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

psabrina... I don't know if you are hooked on Bare Escentuals but I did a search on this website and in my search, found numerous other companies that sell mineral make-up. I've never used mineral make-up before and was very skeptical. I didn't want to fork out a lot of money, only to be disappointed with the product. I've since sent for samples from 4 different companies only to find out that their products are all VERY different in shade, texture and application.

Purchasing the samples was the best thing I did. With that being said, I find mineral make-up to be absolutely incredible! If you've used it before, than you know what I am talking about. My skin has never looked so flawless and application is effortless! I only wish I found it sooner. I sent for samples from: Youngblood, Canary Cosmetics, Aromaleigh, and SkinRx (Mineral Secrets.)

Re-reading your original post, I realize now that I haven't answered your question in regard to Bare Escentuals. If you've never tried mineral make-up, and you are open to other products, I stongly suggest to go the route I did - it may save you money in the long run. Good luck!

See my eariler post on bare escentual mineral makeup, but in short, its great make-up. Well worth the money. I ordered my first time from QVC. I got foundation, blush, and mineral veil (which I highly recommend you get because it brings the foundation and blush together and just gives your face that natural look. You do not have to order their eye shadow (which is really good too btw) or lipstick, or anything else. I use different mascara and clinique lipstick.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your feedback! I never knew other companies made mineral make-up! Here I was watching QVC and thinking that Bare Escentuals was the only one! heeheehee

I thought the same thing... the Aromaleigh website gives a comparison chart of 9 or 10 different brands of mineral makeup to compare price. The links are also available to these different sites. I thought this was great.

My skin has a yellow undertone and it's sometimes difficult to find foundation to match my skin tone. The Bare Escentuals only had 3 or 4 shades to choose from and I just knew the colors wouldn't be right for me. With the various samples, I found my exact skin tone. The Mineral Secrets line claims their powder composition eliminates the need for the 'mineral veil' that the Bare Escentuals line recommends which saves you money.

I just can't say enough about mineral make-up as you can tell. Good Luck
