My nails break extremely easily.. I started taking biotin for them, which has actually helped a lot, but id like to know what everyone else uses to help their nails grow and stay strong

I take Spirulina for my nals and hair. My nails became much stronger and grow long much faster now.

I just keep mine painted with nail polish...any kind...Mine grow fast on their own so the polish is just there to help prevent breaking them http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I just eat lots of salads and fruit! I also take a multivitamin every morning.

My nails grow very quickly (my hair too), and I actually have to cut them every 2 weeks, otherwise they get too long. They also never split or break off. I only paint them very occasionaly, so that also helps. I've heard that nail polish makes them brittle in the long run, and it's true because my nails have never looked so good as when I stopped painting them all the time. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif I also extend my hand cream to my nails and cuticles.

try solar cream; it's a mix of 4 different oils. It's about $5 (got mine at ulta). I've only used it a few days and already can feel a difference ( i have the weakest, slowest growing nails possible..). It's also great to put around your eyes for bags. Feels great.

Just curious...how much biotin do you take. My doctor recommended it as well and said it's in most good multi vitamins. I did a search on the internet and you can get it in potencies of 300 mcg and 1000mcg but I'm not sure what I should take. I'm desperate as my fingers look awful.
