Has anyone tried myotherapy? I've been reading a lot about this therapy and thought it sounded interesting and maybe worth a try. I've done PT, chiro and acupunture and after each session the muscle spasms would return. My dentist has had me on flexeril for the past 1 1/2 years with no lasting results and the oral surgeon just switched me to doxepin, just started so I'm not sure yet if its working.

i have been seeing a myotherapist for about 3 years for shin splints and related leg issues, and <<<< removed by the moderator >>>>.
myotherapy is aimed at treating soft tissue and most muscle contractile issues, so if you are experiencing muscle spasms this therapy may be able to help you. Keeping in mind that one treatment generally is not enough for on going issues and injuries

Hello. I have my third myotherapy session today. Please tell me about your myotherapy. I was sent to this PT by my primary care physician and went in to this appointment totally ignorant. I was NOT prepared for what I experienced. I was terrified to go back for the second treatment, but I am also terrified by the horrible chronic pain I have lived with for the past 1 1/2 years. So, I called my primary doc and asked him if he was SURE this was not doing more harm than good, and then decided to try and stick through it.
I would appreciate hearing from ANYONE who has been through myotherapy and what their outcomes were.
Thank you so very much!

RigelBee- I am also one that doesn't do well with PT- The first guy I had brought tears to my eyes he pushed so hard around my cervical spine. I went back and told him gentle and then I got his PT asssistant and she is gentle. As with anything PTs are all different.
Personally I hate people working on my body, I would just rather let them give me ultrasound and show me some exercises. I do allow the assistant to do the light neck traction tho.
Don't know about myotherapy.

Hi LuvtoCamp.
Well... I am still breathing but in significant pain this evening. The PT was tough today. He really tried to get deep, deep, deep into my muscles and tissue because he says my back is very bad. I still have the old bruises from last week, so now I am developing new ones on top of the old ones.
I just want desperately for this to help my pains. I hope I can have some success so that I can help someone else get through this.
Have you actually been diagnosed with CMP? Where are your trigger points?
Thank you for responding. I hope you have a good, painfree day!
Aloha,
Bee
