I never thought I would be a carb cutter, but I've come to the aganizing conclusion that it's what I need to do, just for a little while so I can shed about 5-10lbs, fast. I don't know much about cutting carbs though. All I know is there are complex carbs, simple carbs, net carbs...., but thats all I know. I don't know which ones are good and which ones are bad. Or If I'm cutting carbs, can I still eat some carbs daily. I just don't get it. Also I can't affort all of that atkins food. What I'm saying is....I wan't to go on a low carb diet, but I don't know where to start. Any information about cutting carbs will be helpful. Thanks.

I think just about everyone agrees that cutting out refined, processed carbs is a good thing. Now, if you are planning on cutting carbs just to lose weight fast, don't waste your time. You will just gain the weight back when you revert to eating carbs. Reading the outlines of a couple of plans at the library can be very informative. It is good for everyone to decide for themselves what makes sense (what rings true for them, what address the issues that are contributing to their excess weight, etc.). Then map out a plan one is going to follow for the rest of their lives (with possible tweaking).

auntjudy is right - you need to find a plan that works for you and then you are gonna have to stick with it in order to keep the weight off. I've been doing the SouthBeach diet since April and I'm very pleased with it. Lots of good food, lots of healthy carbs, and you don't have to count anything.
