I have some doctors trying to chase down numbness and tingling in both my arms and legs, my family doctor said I have a blood sugar level of 110 after fasting and thinks it's not related, does these symptoms fall in the diabetes category? These tingling and numbness is like when an arm or leg falls asleep.
Thanks for any help....

A fasting blood glucose of 110 is borderline for a condition called "impaired glucose tolerance", which is usually a precursor to diabetes. Usually, anything from 110-125 is considered impaired glucose tolerance, and anything above 126 on fasting is considered diabetes.
It's possible that you've got the beginnings of diabetes. I would advise that you purchase the cheapest blood glucose monitor you can find (I believe Walmart puts out a very reasonably priced one), and test yourself for a week or two at the following times:
AM fasting...at least 3 times a week.
2 hours after breakfast - twice a week
2 hours after lunch - twice a week
2 hours after dinner - twice a week.
Keep a log of your numbers. Following are the goals for diabetics put out by the American Diabetes Association (note that non-diabetics will register on the lower ends of these goals):
AM fasting: 8-120 (a non-diabetic would always be below 110)
2 hours after a meal: 80-140 (again, a non-diabetic would usually be down to about 120 or less by 2 hours after a meal.)
What I'm thinking is that it's possible you may be having blood sugar spikes, which could certainly contribute to neuropathy. On the other hand, some people get neuropathy who never develop diabetes.
You might also want to do a search on "Alpha Lipoeic Acid and Neuropathy", both on this site and just on the internet in general. Some people have had excellent results in reversing neuropathy using ALA and also gamma lipoeic acid (not sure if it's spelled "lipoeic" or "lipoic", try both).

Kenster, While you may be diabetic or have impaire glucose tolerance, it's unlikely that it is causing your immediate symptoms. Diabetic neuropathy is typically the result of uncontrolled glucose over the course of years.
It is possible that you have neuropathy not caused by diabetes, and there could be a zillion other causes of your symptoms. You could have MS, Guillian Barre Syndrome, a tumor, a pinched nerve, lead poisoning, vitamin B deficiency, anemia, allergies, anxiety, heart disease, etc....
I recommend that you continue to work with your doctor and have complete testing done to rule out all of the above. Always get copies of your labs - you are entitled to them and you can look up the meaning of many results on the web.
