View Full Version : Is there an end in sight?

Hi there. 3 weeks ago, I tore a ligament in my back. I am okay, not perfect but let's say 75% better most everywhere except work.

When I sit in all these different "ergo" chairs, I get sooooo stiff when I get up (which is like every 10-20 minutes) and I can't stand up straight for a minute or so until I loosen up.

Then there is the pain if I try to bend forward or jerk too quickly.

I know I need to be good to myself and patient, but the stiffness just doesn't seem to get better.

Any thoughts? I tore the ligament that runs from L5 to my pelvic bone (left side) and that also put strain on my SI which is actually better these days.

I don't know what to do anymore. I am fine sitting at home or as a passenger in a car, but then I don't have my arms resting on a laptop on my desk at those places, either....

Thanks!!

Takes up to 18 months for the ligament to heal. Are you in PT? Wearing a SI belt? You want it to heal tight, not stretched so listen carefully to your doctor.

There are websites with stretches and excercises that you can do while working.

get better,
:)

I tore mine almost two years ago and am still in PT. I did Prolo, shot, PT, stretches, belt, massage, and am still out. My pelvis is torqued, according to the PT that I saw today. Also, I now have scolliosis due to this so I am working on that.

It takes longer for a ligament to heal than for a bone to heal. This will be a long process for you.
