I guess I was a heavy drinker for about 6 years. (3-4 beers a night to sleep)Anyway, about four months ago I started having a dull ache in the upper right abdomen. Needless to say I quit that bad habit right away. I was pretty freaked out about the whole thing. My problem is, I have been to the doctor for tests, blood, US, and CT scan. All normal. BUT I still have a dull ache and I have these spider angiomas on my chest that I have just recently read are pretty exclusive to Cirrhosis. Could I have this disease and the tests not show it? Also, with my CT scan, it showed a enlarged uterus and a spot on my ovary that my Dr. didn't seem to concerned with. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Missy,
My beliefs are we are ultimately responsible for our own recovery. I would get all the tests possible to rule out everything if I were not comfortable with my doctor's opinion. I have to tell you I am rarely happy with my doctors opinions. Those spider angiomas are not exlusive to cirrhosis there could be other reasons why you have that. Go to an upper GI man to find out what other tests you can have to ease your mind. Also go to a very reputable OBGYN for the other situation..good luck, Lisa

Did the doctor do a blood test for an entire liver panel? I also have the pain you are talking about and the spider webs. It was all caused by my liver disease. Is your liver swollen? This could be the cause of your pain there. I would see a GI doctor also. Good Luck to you.
