My hair is short ,naturally wavy, and dark brown ,but with lots of gray showing. I am going to the salon soon and would like to know if blond highlights would look good in my hair. I have never had highlights before or anything ,but just coloring my hair myself to cover gray with either dark auburn or dark brown. My skin is tannish color. Some tell me its olive. What is olive skin???
Anyway can you tell me whats involved in getting highlights with a color job and what would look good on me. I have just turned 50 and want to look nice, but I also need to lose a lot of weight.
Thankyou everyone

Hi...What you want to do is a two step process. First they color your hair all one color (the darker color). Then they highlight over that with the lighter color. I have also seen some hairdressers add highlights and lowlights at the same time. I think your hair would look great with some copper or dark/medium blonde highlights to keep it more natural and give you the sunkissed look.
