I am trying to make a workout schedule in order to lose 15 pounds and tone:
Water Jogging (1 hr) 7:30 p.m. -- a class
Eliptical - (30 min) 6:00 a.m.
Weight Training - (~45 min) 6:00 a.m.
Now, I obviously have to do the class at night. I am going to try to make all four nights (Mon-Thurs), but at least get three in. What is the best way to do the eliptical and weight training? I have to do them first thing in the morning b/c of my schedule. How many days of each? Also, I have considered adding simple weight exercises at home (lunges, squats, curls).
For those experienced in this, what is your advice?
BTW -- I have made my diet healthier, also. I am working on 1200-1400 calories a day consisting of vitamin & fiber shakes, lots of veggies, lean meat, fish, etc. If I have to eat out for lunch, I got to Subway and order as healthy a sub as possible (using the nutritional info for calories, sodium, and fat). Before I was only exercising by doing the eliptical about 3x a week.
Oh, and I'm 25 y/o graphic designer (desk job) -- if that helps.

How do you plan on doing your weight training? Videos are great for that, so you can follow a proper form. I would say 20 minutes upper body and 20 minutes lower body the same day 2x a week and try to get 4 nights of cardio in! :bouncing:

I plan to do my weight training at the gym. I know how to go about doing this.
I am just trying to figure out how many mornings a week to weight train, how many to do eliptical, and if adding light exercises at home (squats, lunges, etc.) will help or hinder.

It's recommended to strength train 2x a week about an hour each session. I take it that you are doing the eliptical machine for lower body toning? And squats and lunges are excellent for the lower body. Push ups are also great for triceps, biceps, chest and back. I noticed from doing these push ups, squats and lunges in my videos, my legs and arms are more toned, and my jeans were starting to feel loser. Now if you want to have more muscle, instead of just toned, 3x a week is good, but since you are a women, you won't bulk up much. Actually, building muscle speeds the metabolism cause the body has to work hard even after your done working out to create muscle which aids in the burning of calories. How and what you should do as far as exercise depends on your goal, like toning up or losing alot of weight. I don't think that was indicated. :)
