I have been accepted as a patient at a big hospital in our medical center. I should not say accepted as I have to pay (out of pocket as my insurance does not cover my osteo.) but the MD has to accept you as a patient after viewing your history. I have no idea what they will say but they do have cutting edge info, right now they are involved in a Bone Disease Program study. I have taken calcium, fosomax to no avail. Afraid to try Actenol due to the side effects of foxomax with no improvement in my Dexa-scans. Anyway, I will let everyone know what is new, what they tell me I can possibly do at this stage. My spine is -3.5 and I have had continuing back problems the past year, MRI shows a bulge, no fractures. I have not been on Forteo although I was told I was not a candidate yet due to my age (48) and the recommended short term usage of product. Anyway, I sure hope I am spending this money for some positive results and I will keep you informed. My appt. is mid-october. Good luck everyone!!

Thinbones:
Please do keep us advised. I am on Forteo and the plan is to keep me on it for two years. I'm 55 and have had 3 fractures plus I couldn't take Fosamax or Actonel because of gastric ulcers.
Let us know what you find out after your mid-October appointment. Hopefully you will find something that will help you and all of us that have this disease.
