Hey!!
Congrats! :) I also quit cold turkey over a year ago. It was the best decision I ever made. I know all about those cravings that just hit you. I excersied alot. When I had a bad craving I often went for a walk. I chewed alot of gum...pretty soon it becomes a challange if you can go 48 hours, 3 days, 3 months, etc. Hang in there I PROMISE it gets easier even if it doesn't seem like it.

okay i'm with you guys
i writing to support you. i'm on day 62 smoke free. cold turkey is the only way i smoked for over 25 years. had to stop because of spine surgery aug.18.
i'm highly motivated to stay smoke free so the surgery can be a success.
of course this made it easy to quit but i must say it was much easier then i thought it would be.
everyday that i counted smoke free made me fell so much better. only thing i do to take its place is chew gum, works for me.
good luck to all and keep up the good work,
Bob

This must be catching. My last cigarette was 30 hours ago. It's four in the morning (I have an 11 month old) and God, do I want one. These cravings come out of nowhere; well, actually that is a lie. My triggers are everywhere. After my son would go back to sleep I would have one. I miss it.

Hey guys!! I am still smoke free. 2 months!!! I maybe think about a cig once a week. The only thing that gets me is, I started a new job at an attorneys office and all of them smoke. IN THE OFFICE!!! The time i quit after 14 yrs is when I finally get a job where I can actually smoke at my desk if I want to....LOL!!
I must say, that this has not made me want to smoke though. Probably cuz I am getting enough second hand smoke to support my habit now.....And this pisses me off!! Second hand smoke is bad.
Hope all is well with all of you. I will be looking for a new job soon I am sure. Is everyone smoke free now?????

Congratultions, Aries872! :) You sound like you have a very positive attitude about quitting, so keep up the good work!
I quit 14 months ago. Smoked 30 years. It feels like such a great accomplishment, and it makes me feel proud. You should be as well! :nono:
Wow, where do you live that everyone can smoke in the workplace? Here in CA, nobody can smoke in their workplaces. That's the way it should be too. Why should non smokers have to put up with that health hazard, when they choose to be smoke free and healthy?? Not fair, is it? I think I'd think about looking for another job too. Good luck with that!

24 hrs wasn't that bad for me but once it became 48 then 72 thenI felt the urge. You hhave gone this far though and thats a huge step to success. Keep in touch here whenever you have the urge and we will talk you out of it. If you can try to stay away from convenient stores when you have that urge. If you need to gas up then go to a full sevice staion or have someone do it for you. You need to stay away from those front counters.

LOL. I work at a Lawyers Office. Not your typical office I must say. The smell is actually beginning to make me ill. I work at the front desk so when they come up to check the calendar, they usually have a cigarette in their hand or mouth. REALLY Unprofessional. Anyways, now I have to worry about second hand smoke. Such is life.
