As I said, I just turned 50...Well my hair is thick brown ,short at this time, with natural wave . What is a good style for me to look nicer,or ok,younger???? Please any advice is really needed...I am older than my husband ,and would just like to look nice. I am dark complected ,meaning I tan easily .
Thankyou...

Flip through magazines of people a little younger than you. Find pictures with hairstyles that appeal to you. Then, take those pics to a hairstylist who can work with those pictures to find something to suit your face shape.
If your hair is brown, you might consider slight (not heavy) highlights in either gold or copper.

Susan,
I think a woman of your age looks nice with short hair..Maybe a wedge, inverted parachute bob, short curly bob would be nice on an olive complected dark haired woman.
A swept cut, textured cut, layered,or a wispy cut..All kinds of short cuts that you could get.
If I were you,I would flip through mags and ask the Stylist..
Hope this helped! :)

What is wrong with leaving it like it is? A change right now could just be an annoucement that you have hit the big one (or one of the big ones). How many women in their later years do you see with the same hair dos.....short, curly, and gray. (Also wearing glasses, carrying a handbag, and a sweater over their shoulders....think "Golden Girls".) I have vowed never to do this. When I want to change something I ask myself: "would my mother have done/worn this?"

Why do so many people want to be like their Mother's or get their Mother's approval for everything(not that there's anything wrong with it),however its cool to be our own individual selves and do what pleases us...

Thankyou everyone, although I do agree with wanting to be my own individual self. My mother is beautiful the way she is ,and never ask her mother about it ,and I want to be myself for what makes me feel good. I appreciate all of your posts. thankyou
