Hi All!
Every now and then, I have terrible pain at my Achilles tendon. It is so back that I can't even touch the back of my heel. I can always feel it coming on, and it ususally takes 3-4 weeks to feel better. I treat it very gingerly, and find that wearing a firm, 2 inch heel helps.
I finally went to a podiatrist and got some x-rays. It showed a bone or heel spur up at my achilles tendon.
Ouch.
He gave me an anti inflammatory steriod to take for 2 weeks, and basically said there was nothing else they could do. I guess surgery would be next?
Any opinions/experiences?
