Anyone had electrolysis done? How long (in your experience) did it take for the regrowth to permanently stop?

I had electrolysis done on my eyebrows. This was about 7 years ago so I don't remember exactly the number of treatments I had but I'd guess around 7-10. I'm pretty happy with it, the stray hairs underneath my eyebrows are pretty minimal and I have no stray hairs between my eyebrows. Electrolysis is pretty expensive though so that's why I stopped.

It wasn't too painful in my case. I also didn't have a large area to cover.

Several years ago I had my bikini line done. I must have gone at least 10 times, and the hair kept growing back, although it was a little softer. Felt like bee stings!

I had at least ten treatments each on bikini, underarm and lip. It didn't make any visible difference on me, but my hair there is coarse. I totally trust that my electrolysist did a great job, it's just the process and my stubborn hair. It can really hurt after the tech has been doing it a few minutes in the area and the area gets sensitive. My tech WAXED the underarm/ bikini after treating to remove the hair still in the follicle. I wish I hadnt had my upper lip done, it CAN and in my case DID leave tiny white scars all over the area, cause the needle is hot enough to cause a tiny burn and scab, and I scar easily.
I really would research laser for hair removal. I think electrolysis is good for stray chin hairs, but anything else I would think about laser.

Electolysis will usually hurt more just prior and during your period as your skin is more tender then. As for how many treatments, if it's done correctly you should see visible results after just a few consultations. To lessen the amount of treatments and save money, you should have the hairs removed while they are in their growth phase, which is when the hair comes out and there is a bulb on the end of the hair. This usually happens roughly two or so weeks after the hair has just grown out. If the hair isn't electrocuted sufficiently and the hairs are just tweezed out, rather than just coming out by themselves with the tweezer then obviously you wont see any difference.

I once went for a total of 9 months and saw NO results what so ever. Then after many years i decided to give it another go when somebody guaranteed they'd do a good job and i noticed results after the first few visits. So it proves that if the person knows how to do it properly it will work.

Yes it will sting a little and certain areas on the body may sting more than others, but it's worth it. Tea tree ointment and applying aloe vera gel is very good for the redness and to combat infection.
