Hi Did anyone see the new report on estrsogen/progestin homones and now they are saying cause deep thrombosis. Blood clots that get in the lungs. I now feel even more afraid to try a hormone. I am still waiting for the saliva test I sent off. It should be to the pharmacy tomorrow. it seems like all the reports on hormones keep getting worse.

Oh Wow! Well guess I won't be taking what my doc gave to me, Prempro

I have not seen the report. I will look for it though. I just started with Prepro. I was very reluctant but my doctor said the HRT thing was over blown in the media. He gave me copies of the WHI report. Its like this: 30 hearts attaches vs. 38 per 10,000 women.

Hi The saliva test will take another week the pharmacy said with Suzanne Somers book everything is taking longer.
I like you all don't really know what to think now. This last doctor told me the same thing about the previous test. I hope this report gets onto the the big news programs so maybe someone can tell more about it. It didn't mention in the report if it was only synthetic hormones or not.

All of these reports have truly been blown out of perspective. There a is a long list of "common" over the counter medications that can cause, and have caused, life threathening maladies. Yet, we take many of these medications daily without a second thought. I'm on bcp and they have been a God send in helping me regain a reasonable amount of my health and life. Like many other women I am concerned about my health and curious to learn the real truth behind all these reports about the benefits and disadvantages of estrogen and progestins. Until then I'll continue to pray, research, and seek wise counsel.

I couldn't find a "new" report about HRT causing blood clots. However, I did find old reports saying that and also old reports that said there was no relationship between HRT and blood clots. We are all out here together, crawling through the jungle of menopause.
