Hi-
I've been experiencing some troubling and never-ending symptoms since mid July. It started as an allergy but now, almost 3 months later, I still have phlegm(very sticky, thick and clear) in my throat and now in my lungs. I cough throughout the day mainly to clear it out. My chest feels tight and I can't seem to inhale deeply at all. I was a smoker for 18 years but not anymore. I just had a chest x-ray(results next week) and was put on advair(again) and zythromax(they think maybe it's turning to bronchitis).
It's making me nuts-when I walk at my usual speed I get very out of breath and my chest feels really tight.
so, I'm terrified it's some sort of lung disease or cancer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks-
D

No, I don't think you have to worry about cancer or a lung disease. I think maybe you could have asthma. I had a bad case of bronchitis several years ago and subsequently a couple of cases every year of it until I got diagnosed. I am on Advair ONLY and am doing fine now. But it takes awhile. Its good you are taking an antibiotic because you might have some infection, but when that all clears give the Advair a chance (several weeks) and you should notice a huge difference.
