I started doing push-ups regularly since about 2 weeks ago. It was all fine until a couple days ago. After each push-up, my arms feel strangely sore. This is not oh-I'm-getting-some-muscle-and-it-feels-good kind of sore, but more like help-my-arms-are-about-to-fall-off kind of sore. Should I ignore this and go on doing push-up or should I stop?

If you have been doing push ups that long, they shouldn't be as sore. I am not sure if you are stretching, but stretching is a must. Our muscle tissue is naturally wavy, but in order to build muscle we have to stretch it out and make it somewhat straight. Also, since you are somewhat new at push ups, you might be over doing it to begin with. I would try doing them every other day with stretching and then see how you feel!

How many push-ups are you doing at one time? You may be doing too many for just starting out. Whenever you're starting a new exercise routine, you have to start off slowly then build up to doing more. Push-ups are similar to using dumb bells without the actual weights. You are using your body as a weight. You might want to just chill out on the push-ups for a day or two to give your body a chance to recoup and build muscle. Also, which type of push-ups are you doing? Another words, what is the position of your hands/fists? (Close together or far away?)
