Hi everyone http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif I used Neutregena self bronzing and tanning mousse and I have to say it actually works very well. I am VERY fair skinned and didn't want to go to the tanning bed so I tried it and it didn't streak at all. I would definitely recommend it. If any one else has tried it let me know! Thanks. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey cattys http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif I was going to get banana boat but they didn't have any in a foaming mousse and I heard that they work really well so I opted and tried the neutragena. Everyone says it looks real so either they are lying and I look like a Florida orange or it really does work. Let me know if you try it! Thanks!

Neutrogena and then Ban de Solei are my next choices in self tanners.
I tried Coppertone's endless summer and I really liked it! I decided though to also try Estee Lauder's "Fast Tan"... I'll let you know how that turns out. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I am also very fair and I would just like to start protecting my skin so that I don't look 60 when I'm 40. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I just tried the Neutrogena last week and I'm very impressed with it. I don't see how anyone can even mess it up, no streaks, just natural color. But unfortunately, I just applied my nail tips today and I'm afraid the bronzer will stain them, so I've decided not to use it anymore. If I had thought of this before I did my nails, I may have opted to leave them off for the summer. Any tips on this would be very much appreciated.

I wear rubber gloves to put on my Neutrogena. I love it. No streaking and looks perfectly natural. Surgical gloves work best. You can buy then at the drug store.

Well, I tried the Estee Lauder (Fast Tan Spray) and it is INCREDIBLE! My "tan" looks so incredibly natural!
BUT -- on Saturday, I decided to apply it to my face, and later on that night, I noticed that my eyelids were a little swollen. So I figured that I just shouldn't put it on my face. The next day I wanted to be a little darker, so I reapplied the tanner on my body. A few hours later, I noticed that some of my skin had (small) raised bumps on it, it didn't itch or hurt, it was just weird.
Of course, I would only have this problem with such an expensive tanner, lol. I paid $26 for this one, I think it is only 3 or 4 ounces of product. And I used Endless Summer before it, and although it didn't look quite as good as the Estee Lauder, it was only about $10 for at least twice as much product. *sigh*
I'm going to try Neutrogena, though...I really like all of their other products, and I would really like to get the kind that is an instant bronzer, because I do have some streak issues. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif
Anyone else have any more experiences to share? Hopefully since this is bumped to the top people will see it. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

i've used lancome's flash bronzwer and soleil care, two different lines for self tanning. the flash bronzer works faster, better, and more evenly and it rocks. it gave my skin a sheen and lasted for about 4 days. the soleil care is good, but it takes about 24 hours for the full color to show up, and doesn't apply as evenly, or absorb as quickly. i got them all from ebay about 30% of the normal cost.
banana boat is supposed to be really good and comparable to clarins. i'm trying it next.

I absolutley adore Clarins self tanning gel. It's a bit expensive ($24) but it's so worth it. I've never streaked, and it always gets me darker and a beautiful color. I've tried so many drugstore brands and nothing compares. Not the best on the face, though, it doesnt do much difference for me... but now that it's summer I won't worry about that hah. Has anyone tried mystic tanning? It's wonderful!

I was thinking about using the neutrogena kind but I was wondering if you can put that stuff on your face. I don't really like tanning beds cuz I don't want my skin to look like leather when i'm old but i wasn't sure how often you have to apply it to keep the color. any info would be appreciated.

lol I feel the same exact way. I stays aways from tanning beds, I think they look like coffins anyways and who wants to shut themselves up in something like that? JMHO.
I agree with everyone who likes Neutrogena, I've found that almost everything this company makes is outstanding. Neutrogena makes a bronzer made especially for your face. Never used it but I can guarantee it will work well. Bain De Soleil and Coppertone Endless Summer are my next choices. Happy tanning ! lol

Hi everyone~
I too am a fan of self tanners. I like bain de soleil and banana boat, but they don't do very well on my face. Can anyone suggest one that is good on your face? Also, does anyone have any tips in how to apply it to your hands? It always ends up looking uneven on my fingers and kind of orange.

Honestly, the best tanning cream I have ever used is Coppertone Effortless (not Coppertone Endless). It is very easy to apply and I never look fake or streaky. I even use it on my face.
Hilary, after you finish applying the tanning cream , wash & dry your hands. I put a little tanning cream on the back of my hands and rub together (just backs of hands). It seems to work for me.

I use Clinique Sunless bronzer ($15) and I think that it is by far the best brand out there and I have tried everything else like Neutrogena and Coppertone. Clinique is great because it doesn't stink and it lasts a really long time. It's sooooo natural looking that I get compliments all the time on my tan. They also have a sunless tanner specifically for your face. I also tried Origins bronzer ($18) and it was voted as one of the best bronzer's by Glamour magazine. I though it was good too because it goes on really smooth, doesn't stink and looks incredible. But there is so many sparkles in it - what's up with that? So I'm back to Clinique and I truly love it especially since it doesn't cost a fortune.
Good Luck!

Whoppers, how many uses do you get out of the Clinique?
I'm giving my skin a rest right now and am letting all of the junk come off right now, lol... I think that I tried too many products too fast!
I really like Clinique's line of skincare and makeup, perhaps I will try their sunless tanner. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I still haven't tried the Neutrogena though... which specific kind should I get, any suggestions?
I tried the Ban de Solei stuff -- the pumping bronzer foam stuff -- supposedly you can see where you put it?? That was not working at all... it was only lightly tinted and it was confusing to figure out if I was going to get any streaks or not... it also took a long time to develop. As far as natural look, I really do like the Estee Lauder. I'm wondering if maybe I just got a reaction because I put it on over the Endless Summer? Hmm... I dunno.

Hi there http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif I have to say I love Clinique and that's all I've ever used as far as makeup is concerned. They have a new air brush fondation out that I haven't tried yet that I would love to try.

One bottle of Clinique tanner lasts two or three seasons, for me. Get the "dark" formula for body, no matter how fair you are, and NOT the kind that includes a bronzer. You won't need it to track where you have and haven't applied it--this stuff blends marvelously.

Great, thanks so much! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif OMG, my skin looks so gross right now! The sunless tanner is coming off and I look like I have some weird skin disease, especially on my legs... YUCK!
I will be giving Clinique a try... so no bronzer stuff then... do they have a spray or do you use the lotion?

i've been using the no-ad sunless tanner for a few months (the huge bottle lasts forever!) and i've gotten soo many compliments on how dark i am. everyone tells me i look like i've got a natural tan and it's only 5 bucks for a 16 oz bottle! it doesn't give me color on my face, so i use Coppertone oil-free efforless on my face and it works pretty well w/out breaking me out.

I have tried all these bronzers (Clinique, Neutragena, Banana Boat, Bain de Soliel, etc.) they all react with my skin to make a disgusting smell after they have been applied about an hour. I have tried applying right before bed so that I can sleep and don't have to smell it, but it is so bad that it wakes me up! It is disgusting - I finally found one that didn't smell, it's Hawaiian Tropic Spray, but it's almost impossible to find, I have to order it directly from the manufacturer. They sell everything Hawaiian Tropic EXCEPT the self tanner at our local stores. Doesn't anyone else notice how horrible these things smell??? or is it just me???

Hi http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif I notice the smell with mine. It usually fades after a day or so, but it's there even after I shower. I can tolerate it cuz it doesn't stink too bad.
