View Full Version : Blood In Urine

 Went to the doctor on tuesday. They did a urinalysis because I have previously had a kidney stone that left my right kidney with only 16% function. Well of course they found blood in my urine. No infection. So this could of course mean ANOTHER KIDNEY STONE! My last kidney stone was in December of last year and I was hospitalized for 5 days. My then urologist told me that if I got another stone or infection in this kidney they would have to remove it. We have since moved to another town and I will have to see a new urologist. My question is... is there any chance that I dont have a kidney stone? I do have colicy pain in the abdomen under my right ribcage. And back pain and some pain in the groin. Also should I tell the new urologist what my old one said about having to remove the bad kidney?

Since your post is over eight months old, I hope you get to read this. I, too, had the same symptoms as you. Blood in my urine for about a week, left/right-sided lower quadrant pain and lower back pain. I had a CT scan, among others, and found I had a small kidney stone and an enlarged bladder. Currently, I'm seeing a urologist and surgery is in order. I hope all goes well for you!

Well thats strange.. I posted this about a month ago. I havent seen the urologist yet, I will see him on the 1st of November. I have had kidney stones many times and the last one put me in the hospital. So we shall see what happens on Monday.
