hello, this may be a little off-topic...but does anyone know of a misquito repallent with at least 30% DEET? i've been hearing that we should use one with at least 30% DEET, but i haven't seen any in the stores. the highest i've seen is 23.75%. Can anyone know who carries them? (i scratch like crazy when i get bitten, leaving scars...)

Thanks!

I purchased a lotion with 31.58% DEET. Mine came from a physician who specialized in travel medicine, and he recommended it for a trip I was doing where malaria was a bit of a concern. Mine is made by a company called "3M Health Care", out of England.

Go to some of the hunting store websites and you'll find it. It is still made and people still use it and there is nothing wrong with it.

Avon's insect repellent was rated #1 in some polls last year. It's called Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard.

Thanks for the responses. i went and bought the Deep Woods Off in aerosol. now my concern is whether there will be problems with the can if it's left in the car while we're travelling....not sure if it can take the heat during our trip or when we carry it while hiking...? any thoughts?

DEET is not good for you! Avon Skin-So-Soft helps repel bugs. I am a mosquito magnet and I mix Alpha Keri bath oil and water (1/3 oil and 2/3 water) and use it all over in the summer- it really helps keep the bugs away! It also makes your skin feel silky and it's inexpensive.
