View Full Version : Swollen Ankles

I did see a post somewhere on a similar topic and can't find it.

I have had the occasional tight swollen ankles over the past few years after a hot day, especially if I've been sitting down for a fair while. I checked with the Dr last week who said as long as the swelling goes down again, not to worry about them. All was well.

THEN over the last few days, within an hour of getting up my right foot gets swollen. (That is the ankle I ripped the ligaments in half many years ago.) Not hugely so, but devleops a real crinkle/crease across it. If I'm off it for half an hour it goes down. Then up it goes again.

My period is now 17 days over due and I wondered if it is fluid retention causing it. It gets swollen but not all tight and sore. Wondered if others are finding this to be a problem as well, and if so what they've chosen to do about it. I did think of trying a natural diueretic. Any suggestions??

This always occurred for me two weeks before my period. I haven't had a period in 19 months now but I can remember when I was in the peri period, and my periods were late, I would stay swollen a little longer. It is hormone related. I would watch my salt intake and still had swelling. I also took a diuretic which only helped a little. You just have to wait for your period and a week later it will all disapper.
