I feel really gross today. I woke up with a stomach ache, but I ate breakfast anyway (I didn't know if I should or not)...egg beaters and cottage cheese.

For lunch I had turkey slices (a lot) wrapped with avocado (1/4 of one) and goat cheese, a handful of cashews, a lowcarb crunch bar, and a slim a bear fudge pop.

I feel like my lunch was really random and eclectic and I would have much rather had a balanced, set meal. I always feel gross/fat after I eat random stuff. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.....

Drink some ginger ale, or even ginger is good for tummy aches. They sell ginger as tea. Hope you feel better! :angel: I always get tummy aches from gas due to eating cruciferous veggies like brocolli and cauliflower. :rolleyes:

Those are three very high fat items and the combo could make one queasy (ESPECIALLY someone with a marginal gall-bladder.)

I agree with that. Excessively fatty foods really can make you feel rotten if eaten in excess. I find that since I've had my gallbladder removed, I can't eat cashews at all - they totally make me sick. Even if you don't have a problem such as that, perhaps eating a "handful" (which is hard to calculate - was it 10 nuts - 50 nuts?) combined with the cheese and avocado may have just been too much at one time for your system to deal with.

also, it looks like you didn't eat very much carbohydrate, which can add to feelings of nausea in and of itself.

LS. You have been eating a high-fat, high-protein, low carb diet for some time now. When was the last time you had a medical check-up? Perhaps its time to find out if there is a reason to stop.

As Zip mentioned, if you are developing a gall blatter problem, you want to catch it before it worsens. Symtoms include nausea, gassy/bloated feeling, belching, and pain (sharp or gassy feelings) in your upper right side.

I never thought about the high-fat combo being a problem. That is an excellent observation. Avocado, goat cheese, and nuts....wow...those ARE high in fat! Haha.

Also, Jdimassimo, you are right-I have been eating a rather low-carb diet for a quite some time now, and I am not so much trying to lose weight anymore as I am trying to maintain. The only thing is, I don't know how to start eating now. I've gotten into such a habit of avoiding breads and things that I am almost afraid to start eating them again!

I've gotten into such a habit of avoiding breads and things that I am almost afraid to start eating them again!Adding carbs back into your diet does not necessarily mean bread, and in fact I recommend avoiding bread! Try cutting back a bit on the fat, keep your protein levels up, and add some healthy, fiberous carbs to your existing meals. For example, add 1/2 cup of oatmeal or an apple to your breakfast, 7 triscuit crackers with lunch (or another whole grain cracker that does not contain preservatives and white flour), and 1/2 cup of brown rice with dinner (Uncle Ben's has an "instant" brown rice that is not bad and easy to prepare).

To keep your calories and fat down skip the nuts for a while. Although they do have some nutritional benefits, they are quite high in fat and don't provide as much protein as many other foods. I'm not saying don't ever eat nuts. A sprinkle on a salad or in a stir fry is fine. But if you are going to add some carbs back in, you need to cut something out, and that would be my recommendation.

Also, as another poster mentioned, a "handful of nuts" could be disasterous - exactly how big is your handful of nuts? You need to weigh portions with foods like this.
