I used to run 3k a day when I was young. I have not done this for many years now. I found my upper body is very skinny/thin, but my lower body (legs etc) still looks strong. I am starting to think I should do some exercise. What kind of exercise shoud I do? I am female.

You can buy some free weights in different sizes. Just work out your upper body arms, shoulders, back and obliques. I don't know the name of any sites but you probably can find a chart with graphics that will show you how to use them. You can also do exercises with an exercise ball. The weights are any where from $5 to $10 and the ball is around the same. You should do it about every other day to give your muscles a break. Start out at 2 sets of twelve on a minimal weight and work your way up to a heavier weight when your more comfortable. Don't forget to drink water. Good luck

I think I need more muscle on my upper body. In fact, I am just beginning to lift weight .......... using all kinds of equipments from the company fitness root during work. I go there twice a day, 20 minutes each time. I push each equipment for 20 to 30 times. I am not feeling stronger yet, but I do feel more relaxed. I neck & should used to hurt, they don't now .hurt .....
I am planning to increase the weight to 30 or 40 lb next week. I am so embarassed I only push 20 to 30 lb now ......
Thanks for your response....

You shouldn't work your muscles every day. Try to do every other day. I know it's addicting but your muscles need time to heal. When you work out you are bruising your muscles. You can increase your weights as you feel the need but your doing yourself more harm if you don't give them a break. Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water. If you work out for more than 60 minutes you might want a sports drink to replenish. Water is fine for short work outs.
