Read an article today on nutrition and it said under protein "Avoid supplements", and said that an average adult should only be eating 50-100 grams a day, and that right there is hard on the liver.

My concern is im taking 1.2 grams per pound of body weight a day as you guys said, is this damaging my liver and kidneys?

I will post a link to the article here http://lifestyle.sympatico.msn.ca/FoodandNutrition/Articles/BTV+The+Optimum+Diet.htm I dont know if its allowed but if its not mods please keep my msg open, thanks guys.

Too much protein can be hard on your kidney(s). I only have 1 kidney so my doc has limited me to 100g of protien a day. My doc does not have a problem with me taking suppliments as long as I say at the 100g limit.

It probably says to avoid supplements because it's pretty easy to hit 50-100 grams on whole foods.

As far as saying to eat less protein... for your average person, that's probably true. Your average person sits on their *** all day at work and then goes home and sits in front of the tv or computer and doesn't do much that breaks down muscle more than naturally happens or that causes muscle to rebuild itself back even bigger, and so doesn't need as much protein as someone who is working out, lifting weights, etc regularly.
