my son has flat feet ....he has lots of leg pain.....could the pain be caused by the flat feet.....his feet are wide too (2.5 to 3 inches wide).....his podiatrist said it shouldn't and said he probably has muscular dystrophy or juvinal rumatoid arthritis.....any suggestions appreiciated---thanks :confused: {sorry about the spelling....little bit of fibro fog today}

I would look into seeing a pediatric orthopedic doctor.. They specialize in younger kids. Just an idea.. Good luck!

My grandson, who is only 5 has a bone tumor in his leg & it is painful. Its not something you notice. Feel his leg and see if he has pain when you press on it. If he does you need to see a Doc. I don't really think flat feet would cause leg pain.

my friend was thinking that it is just growing pains.....not sure.....could be.....what do yall think......any suggestions----thanks

I am not sure what could be causing the pain, but I definately think it is worth check out and getting a definate diagnosis. The things his podiatrist mentioned; juvenial rhumatoid arthritis or muscular dystrophy, are things that you definately want to get checked out. Even if it is just growing pains, it is better to find out for sure than to not treat something because you dont know it is there. Good luck!

My son has the same problem. The flat feet do cause leg/ankle pain in very activie chldren. He-the podiatrist-suggested inserts.

I have extremely flat fee (im 46) and as a child my calves hurt a lot when I was on my feet all day. They still do. Flat feet can cause your legs to hurt. My son, now 19, had flat feet too, and at 14 he had surgery and has not had any leg pain since............yes, flat feet does make your legs hurt!!!!!! :rolleyes:
