Hello all, I came down with a bitter cold/fever/sickness about 10 days ago and I haven't been able to work out. I tried to do some light cardio, but I was just too sick. 10 days is the longest I've gone without working out in 2 years, and it's freakin me out!
I'm feeling better today, and I'm dying to get back into my routine. Any advice on how to proceed? Should I jump right back into my old routine, or kind of ease myself back in? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Work according to how you feel, start light and if you feel ok, bump it up a bit. (I think I caught the same thing you have a few weeks ago, so I feel your pain). I wouldn't put too much stress on your body right away. You're still recovering and want to get back to 100% asap. Take your glutamine and vitamins, lots of water and sleep and really listen to your body, expecially if it's in your lungs.

Many times the layoff can be a blessing in disguise. Try to stay on track with good dietary habits. Getting back on track after a layoff is a lot harder than maintaining your workout. Just take advantage of the time off by resting and eating well. Your body will reward you for it. Many times the biggest gains are seen after an extended layoff period.

Very, very true. After my last bout of whatever evil, sadistic strain of cold this is, (though still eating well :) ) my lifts actually went up the week I went back to the gym.

Wow, that's encouraging...I'm going to start it up again today, I feel like I'm almost 100%. Thanks for the responses.
