Thank you so much for all of your responsed on the CT question!

I talked with my father this morning. He is post 10 days from last treatment. He says he is still feeling really beat up. It's amazing that after every treatment there is a different reaction! He said he is sleeping more after this one, extremely fatigued! He also has a good increase in neuropathy (I'm wondering if some of this is due to the fact that the weather is getting colder)! Has a lot of mouth sores and jaw is feeling tight. Loss of appetite. He had his pharmacy order 20 bottles of Ensure (it's not readily available) and has been trying to take in some protein bars at least....so he has some intake! Taste buds are shot!

I find some days I am super positive...survivor posts here are truly very inspiring and encouraging. Other days I live in a shadow of gloom...literally overcome with thoughts of what if? It's a true test...My dad says he knows that his patience is being tested..him and I are much alike..don't deal well with the unknown! Then again, who does really.

Anyway, I really appreciate the support and encouragement! Hopefully those gloomy statistics will be smashed to the ground!

Hi PGTA

Hope your father will quickly recover having finished his treatments. I had forgotten about the risks of mouth ulcers. My husbands neuropathy disappeared quite quickly after treatment and his taste buds returned to normal too.
I expect he will be facing more discussions with doctors over what happens next. Will he get more treatment/surgery or will they monitor him with tests?

I always found it good to bash the keyboard to bits and vent a little frustration or depression out to the healthboards...... always seemed to get some kind of response that managed to raise a smile and lift the spirits. All the things you are feeling really are normal, even in a cancer-free environment. I think also the only way to overcome the fear of the unknown is to talk through all the options with your medical team and try and find out what their own expectations are. Sometimes you have to read between the lines and listen to what they don't say but I found the more questions I asked then the more i felt in control and more able to help my husband and he help himself.

Blimey........... another right old ramble :D hope you dont mind.

Take care
regards to all
ktee
