Good Morning!
I am getting really frustrated. DH and I have been ttc since about August. Prior to that I was on the pill non-stop, (Never got my period) for 3 years. I knew that August we wouldn't have much luck since my OB told me that I would need to wait a month before my system would fall back in to a fairly regular routine. But my period is not due until the 21st or so of this month and I don't "fee" (physically) that we were lucky enough to conceive this month either. I don't chart temps - but do pay attention to CM and pay attention to the calendar to count the days to ovulation. Any thoughts or advice (therapy) would be appreciated!

First you need to relax, yeah I know you dont want to hear that butyou have only been trying for such a short time. Stressing and getting frustrated this soon wont help you.
Second counting days wont help since O can vary. Even with the so called normal 28 day cycle a woman can O before or after day 14. It is an average at best when they say a woman O's on day 14. You really should look into to charting yoru temps because it will give you a more accurate view ofyour cycles. YOu can also read the book Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. IT can be a great help in understanding your cycles.

campbell,
It is not normal to miss periods. I got off the pill 1 1/2 years ago and have been TTC since and have not had one period. Well the way my insurance works they won't help me TTC until after a year with no success. So after a year the Dr finally saw me for the no periods thing. He said he thought it could be 2 things, thyroid or pituitary. Well my thyroid is normal so they sent me to get an MRI of the pituitary (located on the bottom of the brain and controls most of the hormones in your body) well they found 2 tumors and now we have a reason. Now on to the cure, soon I hope. I am still in the waiting game for seeing dr after dr to get a treatment. Those who do not have periods are at much higher risk of endometrial cancer. PLEASE ask for some tests. The most common cause of no periods is PCOS which would need to be looked for by your GYN. I suggest a prolactin, FSH, LH, and thyroid blood workup to figure out what is going on. If you have any questions or need any advise feel free to ask.

It can take quite a few months for your body to regulate after getting of the pill. I would take it easy and start charting so you can pinpoint your ovulation. Once you can figure out if and when you're ovulating you can start trying at the right times of the month. Until then it's just a shot in the dark. Good Luck!

First let me explain the not getting AF for 3 years....I took the pill non-stop so I wouldn't get AF (the DR said it was OK to do as I got horrible cramps!) So I didn't not get one for no reason - it was the pill, I never took a week off like they are designed to do.....So now, today (I have been off the pill since the end of July) AF is due and I have felt horrible for the past week. Did a HPT and I DID get a lighter second line - did another - same result, did another - same result.....so it's quite possible I am PG and still no AF yet today......so keep your fingers crossed, I am losing that frustration!!! Yippee!
Wish me luck!

smil2kill4,

I am sorry, I am unable to give you any advice about your situation...although I would like to advise you to resend this post as a new thread with its own thread topic. That way more people will see it and hopefully be able to give you advice. It isn't suggested to start another topic or another question inside someone's thread that is unrelated. Also, there is an infertility board on healthboards...people there may have some great advice about what to do and whawt to have you Dr look into.

Best of luck!
~L~
