Can anyone give me a website or a routine that gives me a good start. Thanks Sponsor Zshock 10-15-2004, 10:08 PM Well I don't know of any specific routines that boxers do, but I do know of a few exercises they use in their routines. Pushups, I would think boxers would do alot of pushups because not only do they build strength, but they also help with your endurance. There are lots of variations you can do on the standard pushup... you can do fingertip pushups, handstand pushups, handstand fingertip pushups, one arm pushups, not only can you vary the type of pushup you do, but you can also vary how far apart your arms are during these exercises. Another thing boxers do alot of is hitting the heavy bag. I know they spend hours punching the heavy bag...working on their combinations, techniques, etc. They also jog and skip rope which help alot with their endurance...it helps them build the stamina they need to go round after round. I would say you might be able to build your own routine for boxing. I'm in TaeKwonDo and I had to experiment with different exercises till I found the routine I liked. I was constantly reading books on the subject looking over moves, workouts, tips...and I think if your really into this thing you should go to your library and see what books they have on boxing and soak up as much of the information as you can. Then build your own regime based on what you learn. |
