last night i woke up and i was breathing high in my chest..my ears were so blocked i could hear the inside of my body..it was like being caught inside myself...i found it hard to even talk .my throat was so tight.. my balance was affected and i had to cling to the ground with my toes when i walked..it seems my chest muscles tighten when my ears block...its a real strange vomitty feeling..and my ears had a loud spastic ring...then they seem to go numb and buzz
the ringing seems to go from ear to ear and was causing agitation
later in the day i got this fluttering sensation in ear then it felt like my throat tightened up..what is wrong with these ears of mine

Yes, a couple of years ago, I experienced this sensation and it lasted about 4 months. I thought allergies triggered it because it was a warm day at the end of Feb. and I went out to rake moldy leaves. Smart huh? Anyway, I became very dizzy, and my ears felt very full and clogged. That went on until May. It was enough to give me tremendous anxiety which caused chest pains, heavy breathing, the whole bit because no one could find anything wrong with my ears.
To make a long story short, I figured out that I had developed Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and my ears would block up without any infection. I still get dizzy off and on and when I do, I notice that my right ear feels full. I also could not walk and took all kinds of balance tests, all of which were normal.
The only thing that helped sometimes was to yawn and try to open that ear canal. It did not always work especially at the beginning. However, I realized that there was nothing seriously wrong with me and when I relaxed, eventually I could clear the ear.

Yeah, my ears get stuffy, and hurt, and stuff, quite often...so you're definently not alone. Take a hot shower, that might open stuff up again. If not, try some Sudafed, or maybe a decongestant spray.

Hi lost_angel, sorry to hear that you are having such a bad time. I just got better from a major ear block episode! Couldn't hear anything clearly and the pressure was bad, not forgetting the ringing.
Is it the first time that you have these symptoms? Yawning and doing the normal swallowing didn't help me, only when the ear decides to pop back and then I'm able to hear abit better. Maybe it might be all the pressure that's causing you to feel the tightness. Do you think so? Do you hear the ringing even when you are in a crowded place? Since your ears are blocked, the fluid in your ears might not be able to change with your movement quickly, thus affecting your balance.
Are there any pain in the ears? If there's, there might be infection. Have you gone to see a doctor? Hope you feel better soon!!
