Try looking in the adult tonsillectomy section -- lots of discussion. I just remember after I had my tonsils removed at the age of 34, lots of stuff tasted like dirt or didn't taste the same. I had my removed the slice and dice way, but I couldn't drink coffee or orange juice or soda for almost a year and lots of food tasted wrong or disappointing. FIgured it was all part of the healing process.

Ratatosk: How long has it now been since your tonsillectomy? You mention that it took almost a year for things to return to normal. Did they eventually return...or are things still "off" when it comes to taste. It has been 10 months for me. Still can't eat anything sweet. First bite or two tastes OK, but then it is like everything tastes pretty bland. And, I have difficulty swallowing still.
