Hi everyone,

i'm 23 years of age.I'm 5'5 tall and 110lbs.I love the way i look, work hard to make that happen.I work out,eat healthy.I used to have bad acne and went on Accutane a year ago.I was on it and it really helped my skin is dry and flaky now and i do still get few breakouts now and then.I tried every foundation or powder:Neutrogena,Loreal,Covergirl.None of them worked on my skin.Liquid foundation doesn't stay on long and powder makes my skin more flaky.I just moved to Washington,DC and i'm looking for a career in retail managment. But with my skin i don't leave the house,i don't feel confident when my skin looks like this.I would love to go to one of department stores and have one of the professionals show me how to apply foundation and what type, but i'm too embarassed. Please any adivce is welcome about foundation or if anyone knows where i can go here in dc to a salon, please let me know.I just want my skin too look good and don't wanna be hiding anymore.

I've had really good luck with department store foundations. Just go to the make up counter and tell them what you're looking for. The stuff is expensive but it's well worth the price. So different from the ones you get at discount stores, drug stores, etc. don't be embarrassed as these women all are trained for their jobs. DC is a good place to do this. (I lived there for a couple years) Good luck and I hope you find a product you like.

Hi. If you're dry/flaky, sounds like you need a moisturizer, which is why you're not having much luck w/makeup. I think all drug store makeup really stinks. I've been having a hate relationship w/oil free liquid foundation. I recently switched to mineral makeup since I now have major acne prone skin. It's been doing good things.

Department store is much better I would think then drug store so take a walk over and see and ask questions. They are getting paid to help you. If you get a makeover then you'll be able to tell if it's good or not and that will help you with application. Just watch what they do.
