I have an Endo appointment in about a month. I'd assume they don't test for anything on your first visit. Just wondering about how long this whole process will last. I'm starting to get a little worried. Also, I have two more pills in this Yasmin pack left. Should I stop taking them after I finish this pack? (Assuming it would mess up tests if I continue to take them) Or should I continue to take them until I see my Endo?

I don't know what you are going for, but they may want to test for things at your first appointment. You could call and ask whether you should discontinue Yasmin. Many hormonal tests have separate reference ranges for women on the pill, but sometimes they still want you off it to figure out what is really going on. It depends on the doctor. I've been seeing my endocrinologist for almost a year now. When I first saw him I wasn't on the pill, have since gone on it, and my endocrinologist told me at my last appointment that I may need to discontinue it sometime in the future to see if it is causing some hormone problems.
You shouldn't have to worry too much about the appointment. My doctor did a quick physical exam at my first appointment. Pressed on my belly, had me drink some water while he checked my thyroid, etc. He spent the majority of time looking over my blood tests.

bordergirl,
Has your endo helped with your acne at all? What has he/she recommended?
Thanks.

My endo is a character :) My dermatologist sent me to him so that he could prescribe spironolactone for my acne (and also to get a second opinion for my hormone problems). At my first appointment when he did his dicatation he said, "Patient has no acne." I swear I wanted to jump out of the chair :) For some reason he thinks I have no acne. I guess its not as bad as other people he sees. But he prescribed spiro anyways, partially because my dermatologist requested it. He thinks my hairyness is what bothers me :) Anyways, even though he hasn't intended to help it, the spiro really helped my acne. Having a note from the dermatologist can be very helpful if you can get one :)
