Hi Everyone, I am new to the boards here but have been poking around reading and thought I should say hi.
I was just disagnosed with bipolar. After a month long manic state I am still recovering from it. I have always dealt with bipolar from the outside. (With my mom and grandma) So dealing with it from this side is still confusing and frustrating.
The Doc has put me on Geodon and Lamictal. Which seem to be working great. But I am afraid the deppresion is creeping up on me. I am having a hard time dealing with some of the choices I made while in my manic stage.

I am married with 3 kids. One of which is already showing big danger signs for bipolar already. The Doc just changed his meds. He is on zyprexa. which seems to really be working for him except for his OCD which seems out of control. I have always just dealt with my OCD. But his is so much more of a problem then mine ever is.
Just thought I should say hi and introduce myself. Look forward to getting to know you all better. :)

Welcome to the boards Darc. You will find lots of good support here.I also have an 18 year old son who is showing the same signs as myself but he is totally anti med and refuses to consider it or the fact that he may get worse.I just hope that he comes to me if he ever feels worse or gets help.I can't talk to him about it right now as he refuses to admit it is a problem.Hope everything turns out all right for you and all the best.Keep posting.Nadine

welcome to the boards. this is a great place for advice, info. support, etc. i am just starting treatment for my depression, anxiety, manic behavior, and anger. the roller coaster ride that i have been on most of my life has gotten crazy and am now seeking help. i too am dealing with the choices i have made in a manic state. the more i read the boards and research on the net, i am learning about what i have been running from most of my life. my mother and sister are both manic depressive (bipolar). my sister is under treatment, my mother refuses to admit she has a problem. i wish you all the best. you have found a great place full of real caring people who know what you are going through and are here for you. take care, and i hope to see you on the boards again. :)
