I was diagnosed with a fissure a few weeks back, and it has been bothering me for almost 2 months. I don't know if what I'm doing is working or not.
For about a month, it was bleeding every time I had a bowel movement. Now it bleeds about 1 out 10 times. However, I still get the itching/burning feeling, and even an aching feeling that surrounds the area. It's still there, but I don't know to what capacity. When I have a bowel movement, it is usually pretty easy, and I'm done in 15 seconds or so -but I frequently have discomfort afterwards.
has anyone here managed to get rid of a bad fissure that went on for weeks or months? How did you know you were getting better? Did you have to use a prescription before any improvement? Right now, I'm using baby wipes, balenol cream, cortizone cream and eating lots of fiber. Also doing the sitz baths.
I REALLY don't want surgery!
