i'm not sure whether i'm having an outbreak or a yeast infection. for the past three days i've been experiencing sporadic burning and itching down there, but only lasts a couple hours and is very mild. i have no visible sores whatsoever and i'm not having a discharge, either. is this just a very mild internal outbreak or is it a yeast infection? i've been taking antibiotics for tonsillitis, so i didn't want to discount a yeast infection. if it was an outbreak tho, even if the sores were internal, wouldn't i know it? the burning is very mild and only lasts a couple hours a day.

Hey there,
I don't have any clear-cut answers, but I can say that I get a similar thing. Last night and the night before, just a wierdness. Kind of like the first inkling of a yeast infection. I inspected and there is nothing there, nothing at all. And today I seem to be just fine. I took acidopholus the last two days hoping that if it was mild yeast, it would knock it out. I've never had any OBs that i know of anywhere but my booty (both cheeks), but who knows! It so hard not to assume that every little twinge is a possible OB--- but I was prone to yeast infections before I had herpes, so I figure it's as--if not more-- likely that it's yeast. Either way, I obviously don't have sex during that time anyway, regardless of what it is!!
I figure---- we've got a pretty complicated scene down there--lots of oportunites for little itches and irritations. I don't think many (if any) of mine are NECESSARILY due to herpes, but I treat it all like it is and don't get intimate if I'm feeling any wierdness below the belt whatsoever.

If you're on antibiotics, it's probably just a reaction from that. Even before I had Herpes I always had some sort of negative reaction to antibiotics. Now I try to avoid scrips as much as possible...they've always done more harm than good for me.

No, Anna---- sorry, it wasn't me with the probiotic douching. I'd love to hear about it, though. As I've said before, I'm a little prone to yeast infections and would love any possible solution. Right now my chochie just feels kind of "off". Almost like I'm about at the beginning of a yeast infection... but then... maybe not. So annoying.
