Hi,
Ive suffered with anxiety for a long time and been taking Remeron for over a year now. Before I went on the Remeron, my doctor had given me Ativan to help me sleep and for occasional anxiety. Lately Ive been feeling pretty bad with panic attacks where I feel like Im having a heart attack, so Ive been taking the Ativan at least a few times a week when it happens. Does anyone else take both. Does anyone know if its ok to do so.

Thanks, Dawn

I am currently taking Zoloft (its been a month) and also take Ativan which I started back in June. I was taking the Ativan 3x day and realized it wasn't working long-term and thus the Zoloft, and I am hoping to wean off the Ativan entirely soon, right now I take it once a day or every other day at night to help me sleep. My psychiatrist said there is no problem taking both and I have noticed on this board and others that there are a number of folks on multiple meds but I always check with psychiatrist, doctor or at least my pharmacist to check any new meds or over the counter stuff before I take it.

Anyway, haven't had trouble with the combination (aside from some common side effects from the Zoloft).

ativan is a valium type med and these are often taken with remeron and other antidepressants, they go well together
