I have a bm every 1 1/2 weeks and I usually have to use a laxative. I was diagnosed w/ mega colon at a young age. Is this dangerous?

This is a bad problem that can result in many other ailments!!
A Person is considered constipated if they don't have a BM at least every 3 days. It is necessary so you don't absorb poisonous toxins and antigenes. These are what can cause all sorts of health problems in the future!!

I think you should see a Gastro specialist and be treated. Using laxatives just makes you dependant so you lose all muscle tone in your intestines and it just gets worse.

I am a big believer in taking a water soluble fiber supplement several times daily so you are regular. A person needs 25 to 35 grams of fiber daily for their intestines to function properly. The average person only gets about 13 grams.

There is no fiber in all meats, seafood or dairy products. The fiber is in fruits, veggies and grains.
