I am 24 yrs old and I have a bm once every 1 1/2 weeks. Help...Am I headed for colon cancer? I have mega colon, but dang, how far can that thing stretch? I feel like Im going explode. I take laxatives like candy and I am still having problems. I had a barium enema done and it came back normal.???

this is not normal you need to seen a gastroenteroligist and let him exam you maybe there is a blockage.. in the mean time have you tried prune juise, fresh fruits

HI there, although it is not normal to empty your bowels that infrequently, I wouldnt rush into thinking you have colon cancer. A friend of mine was so stressed out once and she stopped going to the bathroom for a week. She too asked her doctor and he also suggested prune juice and in the meantime to find the cause of her stress. I myself only go to the bathroom every-other-day and i've always been like that. I think my problem is i just dont have a diet that includes enuff veggies and fruits. I find FLAX seed really helps me.
You were right in checking with your doctor though.
