Was It A Colposcopy?
That Is An Exam That Is Alot Like Your Pap But The Dr Will Use A Microscope To Look At Your Cervix To See If He/she Sees Any Adnormal Tissues And If He Does Then They Willremove Them And Send Them Off For Testing To Find Out What Degree Of Dyplasia You Have And If You Need Treatment

I had the same thing, it isn't too bad. I was able to watch the whole thing on the screen, it is very similar to a Pap test but he uses a little teeny clamp thing that takes a biopsy of the abnormal cells that get sent for tests. It isn't very painful, there are no nerve endings on the cervix so you just feel pressure really, and there is a little blood but not much. I found mine when I went for my yearly and after the tests came back was booked for a Leep(or Loop) procedure to remove them all....but found out we were pregnant about 2 weeks before I was scheduled for the procedure....we cancelled it and went for a checkup at about 28 weeks, and again about 6 weeks after our daughter was born....I have had 3 followups since then and the cells are no longer there...they fell off during the pregnancy/delivery...which can sometimes happen. So I never did need to get the LEEP (or Loop) procedure. It is quite common though, I found a few friends had it as well. One of them had difficulty dialating when in labor with her first child after the LEEP procedure probably due to the scar tissue but after the Dr helped manually move dialation along she had an otherwise uneventful delivery. Goodluck.

I had abnormal cells on one of my yearly checkups and had the painless biopsy done and they found nothing. The doctor said that alot of time nothing comes of it at all. Dont worry about it most likely it is nothing and all you have to worry about is the period cramps and spotting after the procedure.
