View Full Version : scared by a bit of double vision

Hello

I am now just getting over a pretty bad bout of vertigo and dizziness. I convinced myself for awhile that this was all caused by a brain tumor. I had an MRI (well only about a half of one.... they could only finish 3 parts of it because i had a panic attack in the tube due to the dizziness). Anyways, they said they didnt find anything except for some stuffy sinuses so i figured that if there was anyway that i had a tumor they would have found it or at least run another test. I stopped worrying about it for awhile but now i have noticed that i have a slight bit of double vision. Not alot at all... more like the edges of things seem to just kind of blurr out and repeat their shape a bit. I basically only notice it when looking at things that light up. Force instance, the clock on my phone or street signs at night. I am pretty badly nearsighted and have trouble with anything thats not right in front of my face. Is this a normal part of the recovery from dizziness maybe... or maybe just something that goes with poor vision that i havnt noticed before. Or should i be worried about something more sinister? I have read that double vision is a symptom of brain tumors.

So any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I am quite worried.

Just sounds like your nearsightedness. Maybe you need stronger glasses or maybe your NEAR vision is getting a little worse. If one looks at a tiny light in a distance without glasses, say the light is as big as a golf ball, it could grow to the size of a basketball, depending on how severe the nearsightedness is.

MRI scans are very good at spotting things. a cat scan was used on me when i had similar symptons. my diplopia was apparently symptomatic but have you been checked for lazy eye. double vision and sinus can individually cause dizziness. you shouldn't worry too much as an mri will pretty much rule out the really serious stuff ( neurological things).
hope this helps.
