Hello. I think I might have add. I cant sit still for very long. Its hard for me to watch tv. I am always shaking my leg. I cant concentrate. I was on ritalin, that seemed to help a little bit. But it doesnt last all day. Does this sound like I have add?

Sounds like you may need to go see your doctor. No one here can listen to a few behavioral examples and say "Yep--you're ADD." Take a few online tests from web sites that educate about ADD/ADHD, and go see your doctor to talk fully to him/her about your situation. That's the only way to find anything out.

You mention you used to take ritalin--was that when you were younger? How old are you know? Were you diagnosed ADHD earlier in life?

Samantha, this can help you with your ADD and posture. It's a principle of Yoga, Alexander Technique, etc... anyway:

It's VERY simple, just sit on a chair and stand like you normally would. Now do the the same, but this time before standing do your WORST to do it. You have to really MEAN to do the worst you can while standing. DON'T FAKE a sloppy standing as if it was wrong, I mean truly feel wrong. Ok, so if you noticed any difference then maybe you should learn about the Alexander Technique. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was 5, it was impossible for me to stand up straight and focus. I think ADD is just relying too much on the mind, and relying to little in our instintcs. So, when I say do your worst...you''re not using your mind to stand up and just your instincts. If you do it right of course.

...about sitting up straight, YOU are pulling your neck back and down. So please stand up and say to yourself, "I wish my neck was free", wait for a minute, repeat until your instincts by itself push your head up and forward. You DO nothing to accomplish this though, you simply let go your muscles that are pulling you back.

note - it looks like you're leaning forward when you can't stand straight, but you're actually leaning backwards.
