shannamarie36 10-25-2004, 12:17 AM Anyone have suggestions on mineral makeup? There are way too many to choose from. Sponsor kristielynn 10-25-2004, 11:43 AM I love Cory Cosmetics mineral make up. I tried a few others and couldn't find what worked for me. I tried BE and didn't like it at all. It's not a bad product by any means, it just didn't work for me. I didn't like the very high shine I got from it. Cory is more of a matte finish. Even with it being a matte finish I still get a glow that looks like healthy skin and not at all dull like you imagine matte to be, it's just not a shiny, oily look like I got with BE. It also hides some red acne scars on my nose that nothing else will cover without looking heavy at all. It still looks like my skin. Samples are cheap cheap cheap. .35 cents per sample is what I paid. With a price like that I was able to sample a ton of colors to find my perfect match. What works for one person may not work for another so try a few. vboredatwork 10-25-2004, 12:30 PM Do a search on this site - they're have been loads of discussions of pros and cons of mineral make up brands. shannamarie36 10-26-2004, 11:12 AM Ok well I ordered like 7 samples from Cory. None of them look like good color matches. Can I ask you how you chose colors? vboredatwork 10-26-2004, 11:28 AM It's pretty much trial and error. They have pretty good descriptions on the Bare Escentuals site of their colors. If you generally go for yellow based foundations then BE is for you colorwise. I'm not too familiar with the other brands colors though. Maybe a Jane Iredale user could help you out. Just remember that you can mix the powders. In summer I find the "light" works for me but in winter I mix more "Fairly Light" in. I go through phases of using mineral makeup though as it takes a while to put on in the morning. Sometimes I prefer to slap on some pressed powder and stay in bed for 5 mins longer! Hope you find one you really like. kristielynn 10-26-2004, 01:35 PM Ok well I ordered like 7 samples from Cory. None of them look like good color matches. Can I ask you how you chose colors? Honestly, I just chose a few shades from each group. Don't be scared by what they look like in the baggie. They are a totally different shade once you put it on. I chose two colors to order in full size. Absolute cream is more of my summer color and Buff Beige is the color I'm using now. If you look at those two colors you would think there is no way the same could person could match in both of those colors but they are very forgiving. The Buff Beige almost looks gray in the baggie but it's a beautiful color on and not gray at all. The colors I ended up using are not the colors I thought I would choose when I was looking at the samples. If you can't find an exact match, you could always try mixing two colors. At $12.00 for a full size, it's very affordable if you need to mix to make a match. HTH shannamarie36 10-28-2004, 12:27 AM Kristie Lynn: What is your skin color and how did you choose colors of Cory Cosmetics? Do you use a primer, a foundation, and a spotlight enhancer or better yet, which products do you use from Cory? Any suggestions on how to choose my color? I had said I had gotten 7 samples when I actually had 12 and I still do not think they look matched. I love the makeup so far though! PLEASE HELP! shannamarie36 10-29-2004, 09:45 AM Anyone please? shannamarie36 10-30-2004, 02:45 PM Please help! Im in need of placing an order with Cory Cosmetics as my samples are running low. However, I dont care for any of the samples I chose and dont know how to chose another. HELP! jazzyE 10-30-2004, 04:14 PM If you already ordered samples from Cory and don't like any of them, try another brand. I've ordered samples from both Cory and Aromaleigh. Haven't received Cory samples yet, but I just got Aromaleigh yesterday and I've found a combo of 2 colors that work on me. I have a tone that's usually really hard to find a true match. Try looking up different brands of mineral cosmetics. shannamarie36 10-30-2004, 05:17 PM Is Aromaleigh a matte mineral makeup? I do not like the shiny ones. I do like Cory...its just the colors do not seem appropriate. I dont know if I am cool or warm...etc. |
