Ok, I'm a total hypochondirac. I seem to take on symptoms that other people have. A friend of my recently got an infection in his armpit. Now, I'm very much more aware of my armpits. So, I feel like there is a lump there, but there really isn't. Is it possible that I am just imagining this lump?

hello! I've been in similar situations. What is possibly going on is that since your friend had the infection you have been more aware of that part of your body. The lump you feel may be a natural part of your body, but you are paying closer attention to something that was always there, you just never noticed it. I hope that helps.. :)
