I have been having palpitations and fast heart beat for more than a year now.... I also often have a high temp and my pulse in very rarely below 90 bpm.... and the Doctors can find nothing. I also feel dizzy in the head often but have had a CT scan and everything was fine, I have also had ECG's, thyroid scan and numerous blood tests, and I have also been to a natropath and nothing. Out of the blue I can start feelign really dizzy, have palps and feel sick and lay down for a while and then everything is fine, but this is happening every couple of days and it is starting to drive me crazy... I dont' drink coffee or alcohol and don't smoke. The only thing that I am thinking about is that it is bowel related!!! as the last two times I have been really bad (I also suffer from shortness of breath) I have had a bowel motion and then been fine!!! Doctors don't seem to say much to you which also make it hard! and I am sick of feeling like this!! Any suggestions????

Have any of your doctors dicussed treating your tachycardia with medicine? Tachycardia is defined as "pathological rapid heart rate". Sometimes I think it can be termed ideopathic, meaning unknown origin of the cause. I have read that there are many causes of tachycardia. Medicines (otc and prescription), tobacco, alcohol, endocrine gland disorders, benign adrenalin gland tumors etc. You don't smoke or drink, so there are many more things to rule out. The brain (sypathetic portion of our autonomic nervous system) controls our heart rate in conjunction with the sinus nodes in our heart, and probably more things that I haven't a clue about. But, tachycardia can be treated with beta blockers and I suppose other medications. I take them and they keep my heart rate normal. They are serious meds and your doctor may not think your tachycardia is bad enough to treat, but it can be treated BEFORE a cause is found for them. Hope you get better soon and find some help and answers :)

You're not going to like me for saying this, but have you thought it may be anxiety? I too suffer from fast heart rate, and also pvc's. In the past they would cause me to have a lot of anxiety, Dizzy spells, bowel problems ect...I didnt want to believe that it was anxiety. I thought for sure something was wrong but now that I am on medication for it I know that it was anxiety. I dont have the dizzy spells anymore but the heart probs are still there. I just dont fret over them as much. Remeber that everyone has different heart rates. My husbands is always 50/60 when mine is 85/95 at rest.

I have thought of anxiety, but my temp is always up and my urine tests show that I am fighting and infection, they just don't know what. I am sure that a lot of it is anxiety because once I get the palps I panic.... There is also history of heart probs in my family so they are monitoring that. Thank you for your reply it is always good to hear form someone other than the Dostors.
