I've been diagnosed with GERD for about 6-8 years now. In July I have recently started having problems with my throat. The symptoms are generally constrictive (tightness) of throat and plegmlike feeling in the back of throat. I've had a upper endo and my doctor found some inflammation and after the biopsy was ok he said i have a mild case of egophositis and put me on aciphex. I was on it until a week ago then my prescription coverage failed to cover it. I went on OTC prilosec at the pharmacy's suggestion and a couple days ago the symptoms worsen.

My question is this cause by change of prescriptions or was it a misdiagnosis by my GI? because I always describe the plegmlike feeling and my GI said it isn't really related to GERD or egophositis and recommended me to see a ENT specialist.

Can you help me?

My problem is the esphagus won't heal..very raw and red Doc put me on aciphex and am wondering if anyone had this same type problem?
