why does it seem that my face gets oilier when the weather changes? I really need something to help with that. I thought I had a handle on it but it is just getting stupid these days. I use neutrogena cleanser and astringent, and I use a medication lotion for acne cysts. It seems that my face is better with foundation-oh shoot, I don't know! I am just so tired of it. Any of those facial peels work? or something? How about other products that get it under control?? I need help here! Thanks!

Oil...my nemesis! :) I know what you mean. My skin seems to get a little less oily when I do wear my foundation and powder - like you described. I recently started using a toner that is supposed to help control oily skin by encouraging your skin cells to hold more water (or something like that). I have been using it about a week and it seems to work. I also use a clay mask 3-5 times a week to help absorb oil. Sometimes in the morning if I have time I'll slap on the clay when I am out of the shower, take care of other stuff, rinse it off and apply my makeup. It seems to keep my face fresher longer. But I don't do that every day. During the day, I blot with oil absorbing sheets - which really have been a lifesaver to me.

my skin definitely does the same thing! sometimes i break out more out of nowhere too! i use phisoderm cleanser (the clear kind, not white creamy one) and it is AMAZING for me... no other facial cleanser works well. i was using a moisturizer by clean & clear to stop oil but it has made no difference!! so i just use whatever bc my skin is actually a little dry after washing it. i use cover girl's aqua smooth foundation which helps my skin! then i like clean & clears oil absorbing sheets (the blue kinds). also i found that once i stopped using acne medicine (i think i was overusing it) my skin got much less oily! i put on too much which dried the skin and made it produce MORE oil!! it never felt dry then.. but eventually i got myself to stop using it... which was HARD to do since it felt oilier for a little while.. but now it's definitely less! i also carry around pressed powder that is for oily skin and use that! i do NOT recommend the lil blue powder from clean & clear used to blot powder... i didnt think it worked well at all and my face just felt gross.

booty, I too use the clean and clear tissues, they are great aren't they? I tried the blue powder a long time ago and agree, it did nothing. I use matte powder from clinique over foundation (very light concealing), that seems to help the oil a little (get more oil when I use just powder. My dr did say that over using acne products can actually cause more acne. I haven't asked her about oil control yet though. I use only Neutrogena right now-the cleanser (foaming face wash) and astringent (was using oil controlling-doing nothing and now black head clearing astringent-also does nothing). I guess I could try the phisoderm and see how it works for me.

YEAH those blue sheets are LIFESAVERS! i love those things! i have tried blotting papers also but they definitely do not work as well! I've never tried Clinique's makeup but I know a lot of people LOVE the powders/foundations! I really like cream compact foundation so maybe someday I'll try Clinique's! Yeah I don't know how Phisoderm will work compared to Neutrogena.. I have used Neutrogena deep clean (the clearish orange one) and some other one (I forget!) and they seemed to work allright, but Phisoderm is my fav! It used to be prescription, that's what my mom told me (when she was younger it was). Have you tried any of those mattifying lotions/gels? I wonder if they work well.. somebody said they tried one by Clinique and liked it but I forget what it's called! I would love to just try it!

A lot of times your face will produce extra oil when your skin becomes dry. When the weather becomes cooler your skin will naturally be drier which can make the oil glands go into overdrive. To prevent this, use an oil free moisturizer 1-2 times a day.
