Hi there im new to this forum but really hope you guys can help me out here. I had a bad car accident 7 years ago in which i fractured my L2 and my pelvis. After about 4 weeks of having my accident i noticed a numbness down the inside of my left leg and down the left side of my penis. My doctor advised me that this would pass and in time everything would be back to normal. Its not!
I know i should go back to the doctor but i just wondered if anyone on here has had any similar problems and if so how were they solved?
Thanks very much for your help

Ken :)

Any type of numbness in the groin region is cause for serious alarm. Go back to the doctor.

If this happened seven years ago, I am sorry to say that it is most likely a permanent thing.any hope of that nerve regenerating itself is pretty much long since passed.I too suffer with total numbness on only one side of the genital are due to a spinal cord injury.I know how you feel.Certain things are just not quite as pleasurable as they once were.and boy does that suck!! i was told by my NS that after about a year has passed, any nerve regeneration or lack there of is most likely a permanent situation.seven years is quite a long time to go and then hope to get any feeling back.i live with alot of numbness and pain as a result of my injury.i would much rather live with the numbness than the three seperate pain syndromes that I am dealing with right now.i really am sorry about your situation.Marcia
